Aston Villa – Arsenal
Aston Villa hosts Arsenal at the Villa Park in Birmingham in a match from the 23th round of the Premier League. We advise you to stay with us and our preview for this fixture.
Aston Villa are probably really satisfied with their season in the league so far. Last year they were struggling in a survival race, but now they are in the Top 10 of the Prem. Villa are currently 9th in the standings with 32 points being one poing ahead of their next opponent Arsenal.
Chris Wilder’s team managed to win 10 of its 20 games so far in the Premier League and that’s a very good achievement. In the previous round Aston Villa suffered a defeat, though. The Villans hosted West Ham United at the Villa Park, but the match ended with a 1-3 win for the Hammers. Ollie Watkins’ goal for Villa was the only thing they could do against the Londoners.
Now another club from the capital arrives at the Villa Park. For Arsenal this is a chance to climb in the table with one or more places. Mikel Arteta’s team will try to bounce back from the 1-2 defeat they suffered against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the previous round.
Things didn’t go well for the Gunners at the Molineux against Wolves. Nicolas Pepe opened the score for Arsenal, but at the end of the first half and in the beginning of the second Wolves scored two decisive goals. Arsenal finished the game with 9 men after the red cards of Bernd Leno and David Luiz. They are going to miss the next game.
That’s the preview for the Premier League clash between Aston Villa and Arsenal on Saturday. Both teams are coming from losses in their last matches, so the motivation for a win is here. Let’s see which one is going to have a better luck, though.
