Aston Villa – Manchester United

Aston Villa hosts Manchester United at the Villa Park in a game from the 34th week of the Premier League. This match is extremely important for both sides. Let’s see why is that.

Aston Villa are having few “finals” to play until the end of the season. Right now they are in the relegation zone of the league, being 18th with 27 points. The former European champions are aware that in the next few rounds it’s going to be decided if they will remain in the league or not. This is a crucial time for Villa.

Aston Villa’s current form is not something which brings them hope, though. Dean Smith’s team won just two points in its last five matches, which is pretty much terrible. The Birmignham side is just one point behind the 17th Watford, but this kind of performance for them it would be difficult to survive. In their last game Villa visited the new champion Liverpool and suffered a 0-2 defeat.

Manchester United are playing to secure their participation in the Champions League for the next season. At this moment the Red Devils are 5th with 55 points, just two points behind the 4th Chelsea. United are playing very well lately, winning four of their last five games and being unbeaten in them. Surely Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team is doing pretty well since the quarantine.

In their last fixture United won for a third consecutive time in the league. Ole’s boys hosted Bournemouth and scored five for an impressive 5-2 win. Mason Greenwood scored a brace, while Fernandes, Martial and Rashford also put the ball in the net. Bruno Fernandes provided two assists as well. He’s becoming a key figure at the Old Trafford.

These are our thoughts about the forthcoming game between Aston Villa and Manchester United. For the hosts this game comes in a bad moment. The Red Devils are in a terrific shape and they are the favourites here.
