Belgium – Portugal
It’s time for an amazing clash at the Euro 2020 because Belgium will face Portugal in Sevilla in a match from the 1/8-finals of the competition. Two teams stacked with talent will go head to head at La Cartuja in the Andalusian capital. Let’s preview it.
It’s not that we are surprised, but Belgium achieved three wins from three matches played during the group stage. The Red Devils achieved wins against Russia, Denmark and Finland. They scored seven goals in these three games and conceded just one. The manager Roberto Martinez can be happy with the way his boys performed – that’s for sure.
The best news for Belgium is the return of their most influential midfielder Kevin De Bruyne. The Manchester City star missed the first clash against Russia, but he played in the other two and quickly showed his immense quality. De Bruyne already made two assists in the games he played, showing everyone that he’s going to be one of the stars of the Euro. At the same time Martinez knows how important Romelu Lukaku is in attack.
Portugal lost one of their matches in the group stage against Germany, but with four points the current European champions qualified for the knockout phase. Meanwhile Cristiano Ronaldo is already showing why he’s one of the best players of his generation. The Juventus star is now leading the goalscoring charts with five goals on his account in three matches played.
On Wednesday Portugal faced France in Budapest and took the third place in their group after a 2-2 draw. Cristiano Ronaldo scored two penalties for his team and this point was enough for Selecao to reach the knockout phase. In this game Fernando Santos left Bruno Fernandes on the bench and replaced him with Joao Moutinho in the starting eleven.
That’s the preview we can offer you about the Euro 2020 1/8-finals game between Belgium and Portugal on Sunday. We are sure these two teams will offer us a great spectacle.
