Inter Milan – Napoli

In the previous round of the competition Inter Milan had the chance to play at home and host Fiorentina at the San Siro. The first half ended with a goal for Inter after Antonio Candreva scored after an assist from Lautaro Martinez. Martin Caceres equalised soon after the halftime break, but Nicolo Barella scored the winner for the Nerazzurri in the 67th minute.

Serie A is clearly a bigger priority for Inter Milan, but in same time the manager Antonio Conte is well aware that the Coppa Italia would be a very good opportunity for him to win a trophy this season. Plus, this is a trophy which Conte have never won so far in his career, despite of his time with Juventus, so this could be a good motivation for him. We expect to see him fielding a strong team on Wednesday.

Napoli eliminated the current holders of the trophy Lazio in the 1/4-finals. These two teams met at the San Paolo in Naples and Lorenzo Insigne’s goal after just two minutes of playing allowed Napoli to reach the 1/2-finals. It was a pretty strange game, because after just 25 minutes of playing there were two red cards shown. Napoli’s Elseid Hysaj was one of the players to get shown the red, so he won’t be avaliable for the first game against Inter at the San Siro.

In conclusion we can say that this is going to be a very strategical game between Inter Milan and Napoli for the Coppa Italia. Both teams know that the tie is going to be decided in the second game in Naples, so we expect them to be cautious in their approach.
