Napoli – Perugia
Napoli host Perugia at the Stadio San Paolo in a match from the 1/8-finals of the Coppa Italia.
For the last time Napoli won this competition in 2014 and now they are eager to reach the final again. The club is not in a good shape now, so on Tuesday they could take a breath of fresh air and prepare for the game against Fiorentina in the Serie A on Saturday.
Gennaro Gattuso replaced Carlo Ancelotti after the win over Genk in the Champions League, but since his arrival he won just one game and lost three times. Most certainly this is not the start which Gattuso hoped for.
On Saturday Napoli visited Lazio at the Olimpico and suffered a 0-1 defeat. The Azzurri had the chance to score a draw, but Lazio’s Ciro Immobile scored the winner in the 82th minute.
We expect Gennaro Gattuso to make some changes in his line-up for this match. So far the former AC Milan manager is rarely using the Mexican star Hirving Lozano, but most likely he will get a start against Perugia. Players like Fernando Llorente and Eljif Elmas could also get a start.
Perugia are currently playing in the Serie B and they are 8th in the standings with 27 points. In their last five games in the Serie B Perugia won only once, though, which tells us that their current shape is not good.
But here’s the moment to remind you that Perugia reached the 1/8-finals after eliminating a team from the Serie A. In December they visited Sassuolo at the MAPEI Stadium and celebrated a 2-1 win. Pasquale Mazzocchi and Hans Nicolussi scored for Massimo Oddo’s team.
Napoli are big favourites to eliminate Perugia and progress for the Coppa Italia, but we advice you to be careful with them because of their poor shape in the last few months.
