Norwich – Chelsea
Just as it was expected, Norwich City lost their first game for the season, because they had to visit the Anfield to face Liverpool. But in the second round the Canaries fought for their first win, beating Newcastle United with 3-1 at the Carrow Road. It was their first win since the promotion from the Championship.
The Finnish striker Teemu Pukki was the big hero for Norwich, scoring three goals in Martin Dubravka’s net. After enjoying a very good season in the Championship, now Pukki once again proves he’s a very good striker. Jonjo Shelvey returned a goal for the Magpies, but it was far from enough.
Frank Lampard is not having the best possible start of his career as a Chelsea manager. In the first round the Blues suffered a humilating 0-4 defeat against Manchester United, while last week Chelsea once again didn’t win. They hosted Leicester City at the Stamford Bridge, but the game ended with a 1-1 draw. The new signing from Derby County Mason Mount opened the score for the hosts, but the Foxes equalised with a goal from Wilfred Ndidi. It was another dissapointing day for Chelsea.
Clearly it’s hard for Lampard to start producing results with his former club, but he doesn’t have a choice – he needs to find way to make the team win. This visit in Norwich is a good opportunity for the Europa League champions to achieve their first win for the season.
That’s our quick preview for the Premier League fixture between Norwich City and Chelsea on Saturday. It’s going to be interesting at the Carrow Road, so be sure to watch.
