Sweden – Slovakia

We are heading to the city of Saint-Petersburg where Sweden will face Slovakia in a match from Group E of the European Championship. Stay with us and our preview for this fixture.

Sweden had a good start of the Euro 2020 as they made a draw against Spain in their first game. The Scandinavians were underdogs against La Roja, but they played a solid match, did really well in defense and didn’t concede a goal for a 0-0 draw. At the same time Sweden also had some chances to score a winner as well. Marcus Berg had the best opportunity to put the ball in the net, but he missed from a clear position.

Sweden’s manager Janne Andersson was happy with his defense few days ago, but we should also mention what the goalkeeper Robin Olsen managed to do. In the second half Olsen made a great save after a header from Gerard Moreno and kept a clean sheet. Sweden proved that they are not a team to be underestimated at the Euro.

Slovakia are the current leaders in this group after their 2-1 win over Poland in the first game. Eased by Grzegorz Krychowiak’s red card in the 62th minute the Falcons managed to get a winner 20 minutes before the end. That’s when their star center-back Milan Skriniar put the ball in the net. Before this Poland’s Wojciech Szczesny scored himself an own goal after a good run by Robert Mak.

Everyone thought that Slovakia would be the underdog in this group, but after the first round they are leaders and the only team which managed to record a win.

That’s our preview for the Euro 2020 match between Sweden and Slovakia at the Saint-Petersburg Stadium on Friday. Despite the fact that the Falcons are leaders here, we still think Sweden are favorites to take the win.
